Day 1 – Amman

Morning transfer from Jerusalem to the Allenby-King-Hussein Bridge; enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Meet your driver and continue to Ajloun to see Saladin’s magnificent mountain top castle. Drive to Jerash, known as the “Pompeii of the East”, one of the world’s best-preserved Greco-Roman cities. Your local guide will escort you on a private tour of the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Roman Forum, Hadrian’s Arch, the massive Theatre and the mile-long Street of Columns. After lunch, continue with your driver to Amman, the capital of Jordan; enjoy a panoramic city tour before checking into your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a “Middle-Eastern style” dinner.  Overnight in Amman. (L.D)

Day 2 – Petra

After breakfast, drive south along the Desert Road to the “hidden” city of Petra, built by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago.  Your local guide will take you on an unforgettable trip into the “rose red” city. Travel on horseback or on foot to the awesome “Siq”, a winding canyon road. Continue by foot to visit one of Petra’s most impressive monument, the Treasury, carved out of solid rock from the side of the mountain.  Beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. Lunch is included in Petra. Dinner and overnight in Petra; or substitute tonight’s dinner at the “Petra Kitchen” including Jordanian cooking lessons ($25 per person supplement; must be pre-booked) (B.L.D)

Day 3 – Petra/Israel

After breakfast, meet your driver and transfer to the Allenby-King Hussein Bridge^, or to the Arava Crossing* (Eilat) for re-entry to Israel; or take an optional Jeep Tour to Wadi Rum before exiting at Arava border. (B)
