Day 1: Amman

Morning transfer from Jerusalem to the Allenby-King-Hussein Bridge; enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Meet your driver and continue to Ajloun to see Saladin’s magnificent mountain top castle. Continue to Jerash, known as the “Pompeii of the East”, one of the world’s best-preserved Greco-Roman cities. Meet your local guide on a private tour of the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Roman Forum, Hadrian’s Arch, the massive Theatre and the mile-long Street of Columns. After lunch, continue with your driver to Amman, the capital of Jordan; enjoy a panoramic city tour before checking into your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a “Middle-Eastern style” dinner. Overnight in Amman. (L.D)

Day 2: Amman / Petra

Depart with your driver to Mt. Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land; enjoy the breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Continue to Madaba to see the Church of St. George and its oldest surviving 6^th-Century Byzantine map. After lunch, drive via Wadi Mujib to Kerak Castle, with its maze of stone-vaulted halls and endless passageways, from the time of the Crusaders. Arrive at the hotel in Petra for dinner and overnight; or substitute tonight’s dinner at the “Petra Kitchen” including Jordanian cooking lessons ($25 per person supplement; must be pre-booked). Day 3: Petra/Amman

Today, discover a most unforgettable day in the “hidden” city of Petra. Your local guide will take you on a private tour into the “rose red” city. Travel on horseback or on foot to the awesome “Siq”, a winding canyon road. Continue by foot to visit one of Petra’s most impressive monuments, the Treasury, carved out of solid rock from the side of the mountain. Beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. After lunch, return to Amman for overnight. (B.L)

Day 4: Amman / Israel

Morning depart with your driver from Amman to the Allenby-King Hussein Bridge for re-entry to Israel. Upon your re-entry into Israel, you will be transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem. (B)
