Day Destination Experience
1 Tel Aviv / Jerusalem

On arrival to Tel Aviv we shall transfer to Jerusalem.  We shall stop briefly to take in a beautiful panoramic view of this mystical city from the vantage point of the Haas Promenade.  Jerusalem, the 3,000 year old city, holy to three major religions, is extraordinarily rich in its history, culture and religious significance.  The rest of the day relax or take a stroll down along the bustling streets in and around our hotel or along the Mamilla promenade.   Tonight we shall enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Jerusalem’s local restaurants.   Overnight at the Inbal Hotel

2 Jerusalem

A tour of Old Jerusalem will take us to the Cardo, the main thoroughfare of ancient Jerusalem.  We shall visit the Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site and view the Dome of the Rock, the great Islamic shrine.  We shall continue down the Via Dolorosa and to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Resurrection Tomb, thought to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion. We shall have some free time for lunch.   This afternoon we shall meet to start our volunteering program at Pantry Packers in Jerusalem.   Overnight at the Inbal Hotel

3 Jerusalem

This morning we shall enjoy a walking & shopping tour of the famous outdoor market,  Machane Yehuda.  Here we shall have a cooking class and have lunch with the fruits of our labor.   We shall then relax at the hotel till this evening where we shall experience a traditional Jewish Shabbat with a local family.  Shabbat, the holiest day of the week is celebrated with family and friends.  Many stores and restaurants are closed.   Overnight at the Inbal Hotel

4 Jerusalem

Today we shall take a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem with our guide which will include the Museum of the History of Jerusalem.   The rest of the day you will have time to explore this fascinating city. Overnight at the Inbal Hotel

5 Haifa

This morning we shall travel to Haifa along the lovely Mediterranean coastline.  We shall make a brief stop at the ancient port city of Caesarea, once a model Roman city boasting the most advanced technology of its time.   We continue to Rosh Hanikra and then continue to the walled Crusader City of Akko with its underground tunnels and chambers.   We continue to Haifa and relax before dinner.   Tonight we shall be hosted by a Druze family and enjoy a sumptuous traditional Druze meal.   Overnight at the Dan Carmel Hotel

6 Haifa

Our tour of Haifa will bring us to the magnificent Baha’i Gardens and Shrine with its beautifully manicured terraces and gardens that lead to the golden domed tomb of the Holy Bab.  Bab the messenger of the Baha’i faith teaches that all religions have the same spiritual source.   This afternoon we shall volunteer helping the needy in Haifa.   In the evening relax or take a stroll along the café lined beach front.   Overnight at the Dan Carmel Hotel

7 Tel Aviv

This morning we shall drive down to Tel Aviv, where we shall volunteer at the Jaffa Institute  in the morning.   We shall continue to the Hatachana, where there will be a variety of cafes and restaurants to enjoy lunch.   In the afternoon we shall take a tour of the ancient seaport of Jaffa with its myriad of winding streets, beautifully decked stores and wonderful restaurants.  Jaffa, now a very trendy part of the greater city of Tel Aviv has an eclectic population of Christians, Jews and Arabs living side by side.   We shall then tour the fascinating city of Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps, with its Bauhaus architecture juxtaposed against a skyline of tall modern buildings.  It’s not difficult to understand why Tel Aviv has earned the UNESCO World Heritage designation.  We shall visit Independence Hall, the Carmel Market and a stroll in Neve Tzedek, once a dilapidated neighbourhood and now restored with lovely stores, coffee shops and restaurants.   This evening enjoy an evening to stroll along the beach promenade, with its choice of restaurants and cafes or perhaps the Old Port of Tel Aviv, in the north of the city to enjoy a meal or coffee.   Overnight at the Crowne Plaza

8 Tel Aviv

Today we shall meet for “One Day Social Volunteering” program and meet the locals.   The rest of the day will be at leisure. Perhaps enjoy the new Sarona area, the recently renovated neighborhood where the Templars had once lived.   Overnight at the Crowne Plaza

9 Tel Aviv / Departure

Today we shall visit the Eretz Israel Museum  with free time after to enjoy the city.   This evening we shall enjoy a “surprise” Farewell dinner” before we depart to Ben Gurion Airport for our return flight to the USA.
