New CEO

New York, NY – (May 18, 2017) – Richard Krieger, president of The IsramWorld Portfolio of Brands announced today the appointment of Michael Gelber as the new CEO and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Gelber will assume duties with immediate effect with a mandate to spearhead the company’s ambitious new growth plans.

Founded in 1967, IsramWorld rose into being one of America’s most prolific tour operators under the dynamic leadership of late Ady Gelber who passed away early 2016. The company, offering premium and bespoke travel experiences to Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa and beyond is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and is poised to grow ever stronger under the guidance of the junior Gelber.

Mr. Gelber comes with extensive professional experience across industries. Gelber’s association over the past seven years has been as president of Alexis Ventures and K. Alexis – businesses in the winery, and food and beverage industries. Prior to this, Gelber has been involved with a regional startup publication, Sactown Magazine, national incentive-based travel group ‘Encenta,’ and the first multi-state dating service. Gelber’s relationship with IsramWorld goes back many years when Michael was directed by his late father, Ady Gelber to assist with sales and marketing, and a social media launch in addition to networking and relationship development.

Announcing Gelber’s appointment, IsramWorld President Richard Krieger said, “Michael is an exceptional leader poised to take the company to the next epoch.” Adding further Richard stated, “As we take our growth strategy to the next level, the team at IsramWorld and I are excited to be working alongside Michael on this ‘no limits’ journey.”

Reflecting on his appointment, Gelber said, “Filling the shoes of my father and mentor, Ady Gelber, will be no easy feat. I have always been in awe of my father’s passion, commitment and vision that led Isram to being one of America’s largest tour operators for many years. My father’s impact on American tourism to Israel will always be remembered and I am honored to have the opportunity to keep my father’s legacy alive.” Gelber added, “There is no doubt that my father’s illness had an impact on the company over the past few years, even prior to him passing, and I am committed to getting us back to a place that my father and our team would be proud. Our company has a 50-year heritage of being curators of travel across 56 countries worldwide. I am passionately committed to ensuring that IsramWorld provides a fulfilling experience to our travel partners as we continue to grow on this journey together.”

In line with the company’s outlined growth plans, Gelber will be visiting Israel and Egypt in the coming weeks to consolidate and strengthen Israeli world partnerships with government officials, senior executives of tourism boards and suppliers. The company is also making significant investments to expand its sales reach in the South East. Further, the company also announced the return of former employee, Cristina Almeida to Isram’s South and Central American division, Latour, the leading tour operator to South and Central America.
