1 Wednesday: En Route / Amman

Depart on your flight(s) to Amman.

2 Thursday: Amman

Arrive in Amman; transfer to your deluxe hotel in the modern and ancient capital of Jordan. Overnight in Amman.

3 Friday: Amman / Petra

Drive to Mt.Nebo, with your driver. It is here, where tradition says Moses climbed to see the Promise Land, and where he is presumed buried. Continue to Madaba. Visit the Church Of St. George with its vivid 6th century Byzantine map created of mosaic tiles depicting Jerusalem and other holy sites. After lunch, drive to Kerak Castle, with its maze of stone vaulted halls and endless passageways, from the time of the Crusaders. Arrive in Petra for dinner and overnight. (B.L.D)

4 Saturday: Petra / Amman

Tour of  Petra, built by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago. This Unforgettable trip into the “rose-red” city (by horseback and foot), which begins at the “Siq”, a winding canyon road. At the end of the passage you’ll see Petra’s most beautiful monument-The Treasury-carved out of the solid rock from the side of the mountain. Beyond the Treasury, discover soaring temples; elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. After lunch, return drive north to Amman for overnight. Tonight, a “ Middle-Eastern” Dinner. (B.L.D)

5 Sunday: Amman / Cairo

After a panoramic tour of Amman, continue to Jerash, one of the world’s best preserved Greco-Roman cities, with its colonnaded Cardo, Theatre, Temple of Zeus, Arch of Hadrian, Artemis Temple complex and Nymphaeum. After lunch, flight to Cairo; arrive and transfer to your hotel on the Nile River for overnight. (B.L)

6 Monday: Cairo/Luxor - Nile Cruise

Early morning flight to Luxor. Arrive and transfer to your Nile Cruiser for a 5 Day/4 Night Cruise. After lunch, visit the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the imposing Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades, standing alone in the heart of town. Continue to the vast Karnak Temple-Complex, built by generations of Pharaohs over a 2000-year period. Overnight in Luxor. (B.L.D)

7 Tuesday: Luxor/Esna - Nile Cruise

After breakfast, visit the Valley of the Kings containing the secretive tombs of New Kingdom Pharaohs. Visit the beautifully terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari. Pass the famed Colossi of Memnon, standing nearly 70 feet tall. The ship then sails to Esna. After lunch on board, the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Esna. (B.L.D)

8 Wednesday: Edfu / Kom Ombo - Nile Cruise

Early morning sailing to Edfu. Visit the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all large Egyptian Temples, built over 180 year period. In the afternoon arrive in Kom Ombo, a hill town overlooking the banks of the Nile. Visit the Greco-Roman Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Horus, the Sun God and Sobek, the Crocodile God. 9 Thursday : Aswan - Nile Cruise

Morning saling to Aswan. Visit the Aswan High Dam and the granite quarries where the stone for the ancient monuments and modern dam of Aswan were cut. Continue by motorboat to the beautiful island of Philae to see the exquisite, gleaming white Temple of Isis. After lunch, sail on a typical Egyptian ‘felucca’ (sailboat) which glides along the Nile, passing by Lord Kitchener’s Island and the dramatic white marble Aga Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. 10 Friday: Aswan / Cairo

After disembarkation, return flight to Cairo. Meet and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. 11 Saturday: Cairo

The day begins with a visit to the world-famous Egyptian Museum with its 100,000 objects covering 5000 years of ancient Egyptian civilization; view Tutankhamun’s treasures and the fascinating Mummy Room. Drive to Giza; after lunch, see the Three Great Pyramids, the oldest surviving structures built by man; enter one of the Pyramids. Visit the astonishing Solar Boat Museum, housing the oldest known ship in the world, uncovered after being buried for over 4500 years. Stand in awe at the magnificent Sphinx carved out of a single piece of stone, guarding the Giza plateau. Try a camel ride before continuing to the unique Karnak store for refreshments and some last minute shopping. Overnight in Cairo. (B.L)
