Day Destination Experience
1 Amman

Morning transfer from Jerusalem to the Allenby King Hussein Bridge; enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Meet your driver and continue to Ajloun to see Saladin’s magnificent mountaintop castle. On to Jerash, known as the “Pompeii of the East,” one of the world’s best-preserved Greco-Roman cities. Your Local guide will escort you on a private tour of the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Roman Forum, Hadrian’s Arch, the massive Theatre and mile-long Street of Columns. After lunch, continue with your driver to Amman, the modern and ancient capital of Jordan; enjoy a panoramic city tour before checking into your hotel. Tonight, Dinner “Middle Eastern Style.” (L.D.)

2 Petra

Travel with your driver along the King Highway as it winds its way south. Stop at the most revered site in Biblical Jordan: Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land; enjoy a breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Continue to Madaba, Byzantine center of master mosaics, where you will see the oldest surviving mosaic map of the Holy Land. Then, after lunch, continue to Kerak, where you will see one of Jordan’s many castles dating back to the time of the crusaders. On to Petra. Dinner and overnight in Petra. (B.L.D.)

3 Petra

A most unforgettable day in Petra. Your local guide will take you on a private tour into the “rose red” city (by horseback and foot) begins at the awesome “Siq,” a winding canyon road. At the end of the passage you’ll see Petra’s most impressive monument — the Treasury, beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. Lunch is included on today’s tour. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Petra. (B.L.D.)

4 Israel (Eilat)

After breakfast, transfer to the Arava border crossing for your re-entry to Israel (Eilat). Upon your re-entry into Israel you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Eilat or to Eilat Airport (this may be a shared transfer). An optional Jeep Tour to Wadi Rum may be arranged on this day before your arrival at the Arava border. (B).
